Russell dishes on Leo

For a guy who hates tabloids, Russell Crowe gives great gossip. "You know, I worked with Leonardo [Dicaprio] when he was 17," Crowe recalls. "He was a virgin and he'd talk about that constantly." Of course, Dicaprio has made up for lost time with his conquests of supermodels Gisele Bundchen and Bar Rafaeli, among others. So Crowe is looking forward to debriefing the lothario on their upcoming flick Body of Lies. "I'm hoping...he can fill [me] in on what's happened in between, maybe show some photos," Crowe laughs in Entertainment Weekly. "I'm sure life's different now."

Leo's back on the market, ladies

Leonardo Dicaprio is reportedly looking for a new model after splitting from his post-Gisele Bundchen babe, Bar Rafaeli. On Friday night at Sweet Paradise in NYC, Dicaprio was with Josh Hartnett checking out the arm candy at the afterparty for the new skateboarding film Nothing But the Truth. And, in an odd twist, Rafaeli's new squeeze is surfer Kelly Slater, who dated Bundchen after she and the Titanic star broke up. Slater got into some trouble over the weekend in Israel when he and Rafaeli exited a hotel in a Tel Aviv suburb before dawn to find photographers waiting for them. He was arrested after fighting with local paparazzi. A police spokesperson told the AP that in an effort to prevent the photogs from taking pictures, Slater pushed them. A brawl broke out, and Slater was taken in for questioning and later released.

Leo and George to team up for policitical thriller

It was only a matter of time: two of Hollywood's most politically active stars are teaming up for a political thriller. George Clooney is in negotiations to direct Leonardo Dicaprio in Farragut North, a feature adaptation of an upcoming Broadway play based loosely on Howard Dean's 2004 presidential election campaign. Both would also produce the film. Named after the Washington Metro station located near many lobbyists' offices, the play follows a young, idealistic communications director who works for an inspiring - but unorthodox - presidential candidate. During the campaign, his career is done in by more seasoned politicos who thrive on poisonous partisan politics, dirty tricks and backstabbing.

Dicaprio will also serve on the board of advisers for Planet Green, which is set to launch in 2008.

Love and lust in Cannes

PageSix has some Cannes gossip... After months of denying their affair, Rose McGowan and Grindhouse director Robert Rodriguez arrived as a couple to the Death Proof premiere. Rosario Dawson also found love on set and walked the red carpet with Eli Roth, who directed a Grindhouse trailer for a fake horror film. Jessica Simpson also caused a stir at a private yacht party by spending "the whole night following Leonardo Dicaprio around like a lost puppy," says a source. "He just seemed freaked out and kind of ignored her."

Leo sued by neighbors

Neighbors of Leonardo Dicaprio filed a lawsuit this week alleging the Blood Diamond actor's construction of a basketball court on his LA property has caused damage to their uphill property for the nearly three years. The couple claim Dicaprio "maliciously" cut and removed hedges from their property and excavated "earth, granite and bedrock," which they say has destabilized their deck and pool and caused damages in excess of $250,000. They also accuse the actor of ignoring their repeated demands to halt construction.

Brangelina to join other big names at Cannes

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have confirmed that they will present their film A Mighty Heart at the Cannes Film Festival next month. The movie, produced by Pitt's film company, stars Jolie as Mariane Pearl, the widow of reporter Daniel Pearl. "The story unfolds like a mystery," Jolie told EW mag. "You've got people collecting clues and trying to solve what happened. But it's also very real and personal. We didn't want it to be too melodramatic or too polished. We didn't want it to be a typical movie." Other big names scheduled to visit the South of France for the festival include Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz, who will open the fest with My Blueberry Nights; George Clooney, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle in support of Ocean's 13; Michael Moore will present his latest doc, Sicko; and Leonardo Dicaprio is set to promote a special screening of the environmental documentary The Eleventh Hour.

Leo's bodyguards arrested

Two of Leonardo Dicaprio's bodyguards were arrested in Jerusalem yesterday after a scuffle with photographers. "Two of his security guards were arrested by police after being involved in a fight that broke out," said an Israel police spokesperson. "They are being questioned." Dicaprio was on a private tour of the Western Wall tunnels in the city with model girlfriend and Israeli native Bar Refaeli when the incident took place. The couple have been dogged by photographers since their arrival in Israel on Sunday, and their plans for a quiet holiday were dashed after a group of Israeli entertainment reporters happened to be on the same flight from Frankfurt.

Leo wins - but not in a good way

Leonardo Dicaprio has been awarded the Black Lung Award by a group of Canadian high school students for the prevalence of cigarette smoking in the movie Blood Diamond. The purpose of the Black Lung Awards is to target actors and movies that attempt to glamorize smoking by featuring tobacco use. Blood Diamond was picked as the most smoke-filled movie of the year while its lead actor managed to earn himself "male chimney" honors. Night at the Museum was awarded the Pink Lung Award as a film without a single smoking character. "We want people to realize how much smoking there actually is in movies and how much they glamorize it," said a student at the school. "They never show the bad things that happen to people because of smoking."
